Sam and I - December 2000

I have been involved with dogs since I was just a month old, when I got my very first puppy, Sam, a Labrador/Rough Collie mix.

In 2003, I started learning to show our first show dog, Maggie.

In 2004, our handler saw potential in me, and showed me the ropes. Later that year, I got to take a Powder Puff Chinese Crested named Wally into the ring when our handler had a conflict. And that was my first time in the ring.

In August of 2007 I got my very own show dog, Rainy, a yellow Labrador bitch. When Rainy and I began showing in 2008, we won the hearts of judges, exhibitors, and spectators alike. Thanks to my bright ruby red shoes, Rainy and I earned the nickname Red Shoe Girls.

Dutch and I going Best of Winners - October 2007

In October of 2007 I got my first taste of showing a Labrador when our handler asked me to take a 6 month old puppy, Dutch, back in for Best of Breed. Ever since those two laps around the ring, I've been hooked. Little did I know, that just a few years later, Dutch and Rainy would give me my best show dog yet, GG.

In 2009 I was old enough to join the AKC Junior Handler program. I started showing in Juniors with one of our chocolate girls, Misty. In just three shows, I moved up from Novice Junior to Open Junior with the help of Misty.

Storm and I winning Best Junior Handler - November 2014

In November of 2011, I got my very first chocolate boy, Storm Ryder. Storm is my resident goofball, and I wouldn't trade him for anything. Storm and I have had a career together like no other, with four Best of Breeds (over specials, no less) in a row in March 2013, and finishing out the 2014 year as #1 Labrador junior in the country.

In 2012 when I moved up from Open Junior to Open Intermediate, I was signed on to a beautiful black male, Jett, so I could show him in Juniors. In November, with Jett, I won my first Best Junior Handler at the High Desert Labrador Retriever Club specialty in Acton, CA.

Tyson and I in the 4-H Best Showman class - April 2014

In January of 2013 I bought my first "real" juniors dog, Tyson, a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. When I first met Ty, he ran straight past my mom, Tricia, and our handler, and right to me. I later found out that I look exactly like a younger version of his breeder. Tyson and I have since formed a bond that nothing parallels. Not only have Tyson and I competed in AKC juniors, but also in ASCA and UKC juniors, AKC, ASCA, and UKC conformation, 4-H obedience and showmanship, and UKC rally obedience.

In October of 2013 I got my second Juniors dog, Sig, a 15 inch tri-color Beagle. I brought him home with me from a show in Pleasanton, CA. In January of 2014, Sig and I won Best Junior Handler at the Channel City Kennel Club in Ventura, CA. It was my first all-breed Best Junior, with Sig and I defeating 25 other Juniors.

In September of 2014 I got my second Beagle, Flica, who is also a 15 inch tri. In September at the Santa Maria Kennel Club in Santa Maria, CA, I handled Flica to a Best of Breed and Hound group 2. In October of 2014, Flica and I won Best Junior at Skyline Dog Fanciers of San Mateo in Pleasanton, CA. Flica and I had a whirlwind couple of months in 2014, finishing the year as #4 Beagle junior in the country.

In November of 2014 I got my third Beagle, Miles, a 15 inch tri. Miles and I already have an incredible track record, with three back-to-back Winners Dogs, and two Best of Varietys in a row in Hanford, CA in March 2015. In October 2015, Miles and I made AKC history, being the first Junior to be awarded Reserve Best Junior Handler in Primm, NV. The next day, Miles and I finished our stint in Open Intermediate by going Best Junior Handler.

River in I in Juniors in Ventura, CA - January 2015

In December of 2014, I was added as co-owner on River, a gorgeous red and white Brittany. River's owners added me as co-owner so I could show River in juniors. Our first weekend out, River and I defeated a total of 21 juniors in Indio in January, 2015. As of May 2015, River and I have defeated a total of 34 juniors, putting me as #2 Brittany junior in the country.

Now in 2015, I continue to show our Labradors, my Juniors dogs Tyson, Flica, and Miles, and occasionally show for other people. I am also a member of the Templeton 4-H group, being a 5th year member of the Dog Group, 4th year member and teen leader of the Photography Group, and 4rd year member and teen leader of the Beef Group. My role in the kennel is evaluating puppies; deciding which ones are show potential, which ones would make great service dogs, which ones would excel in the hunt field, and which ones would do well as companion dogs, and taking care of the show dogs.
